Because you are strong!

Ian my boy,

Your mom told you something yesterday and I wanted to get it on paper.  You had just pushed Aidan down and she came up to you and told you, “We use our strength for good.”

Ian, you are strong, you will be very strong.  I can see it already.  Son, I want you to know that your strength is a gift from God and He has given it to you to glorify Himself.  As I have said before, my hope is that you will know that and be a protector.  Protect those that can’t protect themselves.

I love you and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

Love, Dad

Hurts and Pains

leave a comment »

Ian my boy,

I told you a little while ago to stretch.  Let me tell you more of why.  Growing up, I have hurt my body on a number of occasions, the pains are still there so my hope is you can do better.  Here they are:

Right Ankle – Twisted while trying to jump down some stairs in HS drivers-ed class.

Left Ankle – Twisted while running in the woods and not watching where I was going.

Right Shoulder – Dislocated it while attempting a poor arm tackle during a rugby match in Flight School

Both knees – on going problems I discovered in HS, primarily from not stretching, ever.

Lower Back – ruptured disc while lifting nothing more than a bed sheet, most likely from poor core strength.

Those are the big ones.

Love you,

Dad
